Healthy Homemade Granola Recipe

Whilst granola is full of fibre and other nutrients, store-bought versions can be full of hidden sugar and fats. If you're looking for a healthy alternative, try this quick and easy recipe which can be adapted to your tastes. Eaten in moderation, granola can help fill you up, provide energy, and have a positive impact on blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, weight.
A great way to start the day or just for a sneaky snack.
Ingredients (Serves 1)
- Rolled oats
- Dried fruit - cranberries, strawberries, blueberries, coconut flakes or raisins all work well
- Nuts and seeds - walnuts, almonds,
- 2-3 tablespoons Maple syrup or honey
- 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180C and line a baking sheet with baking paper
- Combine the oats, nuts, seeds in a bowl.
- Drizzle with the coconut oil and maple syrup and season with cinnamon. Make sure everything is coated.
- Add to the baking sheet and place in the oven for around 10 minutes, take it out and toss the ingredients and replace for another 10 minutes.
- Once golden, remove and cool. Mix in the dried fruit.
- Serve with yoghurt, milk or as a snack on its own.
