Ebru Grape Molasses (400g)

Grapes are used in viticulture and as a classic jelly for toast, but they also have a mysterious, alternate existence in the form of grape molasses. Grape molasses (pekmez in Turkish) is a historic syrup produced from condensed grapes and is considered to have been one of the earliest sweeteners used in the Mideast and Greek territories before corn syrup and nectar were adopted. Grape molasses is appreciated for its rich iron and calcium contents, making it a cupboard staple in Turkey and other areas of the country. It's great as a quick snack, but it also goes well with bread, juices, breakfast dishes, toasts, and sausages.
